"....[Chuck Leavell is] one of the finest rock keyboardists of all time..."

—Keyboard Magazine

Chuck Leavell is one of rock music's most accomplished musicians. His piano and keyboard work has been heard on the recordings of Eric Clapton, The Rolling Stones, The Black Crowes, George Harrison, The Allman Brothers Band, Train, The Indigo Girls, Blues Traveler, and many, many more. In his first ever instructional video, he offers musicians and fans the unique opportunity to learn from one of today's best piano players.

Chuck begins this video with the basics—stretching, finger exercises, octaves, and scales—and then demonstrates a variety of techniques useful for playing blues, gospel, and boogie woogie piano. Along the way, Chuck breaks down a number of great songs, including the Eric Clapton Unplugged favorite "Alberta" and The Allman Brothers' classics "Statesboro Blues" and "Jessica". Archival clips of Ray Charles, Mississippi Fred McDowell, Meade "Lux" Lewis, Eric Clapton and The Allman Brothers Band complement recollections of Chuck's early musical experiences and notable career highlights.

This jam-packed DVD includes full sheet music for all of Chuck's performances (available as PDF files on the ROM section of the disc) and a special section in which he shares his thoughts about how to prepare for the recording studio. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned pro at the piano, this video will provide you with a host of insights and tips that will undoubtedly improve your playing.
